Doormatic Featured on Channel 4’s ‘Inside Out Homes’

As part of a stunning home overhaul, Doormatic’s work has been featured on Channel 4’s new series, ‘Inside Out Homes’. The episode, aired 22nd May, followed couple Geoff and Jess Poore as they revitalised their tired mansion to create an open-plan oasis. Enlivening an Old Mansion

The aim of Channel 4’s new programme is to challenge the concepts of inside and outside in the modern home. Leading the programme, architect Zac Munroe is on a mission to transform properties into indoor-outdoor havens that break down barriers between the two areas by using smart design.

Here at Doormatic, we were delighted to contribute to the transformation of a 1960s neoclassical mansion, located in Esher, Surrey. Our professionals were called in by the design team to install a high-quality sectional garage door which complemented Zac’s vision. Having been established for over 20 years, we used our wealth of experience to install a final product with a quality fit and feel that worked to elevate the property’s exterior.

An Inspiring Space

The revamped property was rebuilt from scratch – the old brick structure was razed to the ground, and a high performance, prefab home was constructed in its place. The new property boasted a sleek glass wall running along the back of the property, which opened out onto the lawn, creating a truly open-plan area that merged indoor living with outdoor charm.

To create the new build, Zac was inspired by homes in mid-century USA, especially in regions such as Palms Springs, where open-plan living first gained traction as a contemporary way to rejuvenate and enjoy a property – and also as a way to bring the beauty of green spaces into the home.
